Street Eat Saturdays will continue

Street Eat Saturdays will continue through August following the success of the first Saturday food truck event downtown, Philadelphia Main Street said.

The Street Eat Saturdays events downtown are set for May 4, June 8, and Aug. 17.

“It was a great success,” said Tim Moore, Main Street director. “For our first one, it went really well.”

The idea was proposed by Main Street board members, some of whom are small business owners, aiming to attract more people downtown.

Main Street has scheduled these events to take place every five Saturdays.

The Street Eat event on May 4 will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be held on Center Avenue next to Citizens Bank.

It will feature local food vendors such as Rooster Ridge, Indian Tacos, Pickin’ N Grillin’, Point Blank Grillin’, Tootie’s Country Buffet, Philly Sno, and live music by Scottie Chunn.

There will be no Street Eat event in July due to the Neshoba County Fair, and as of now, nothing is scheduled beyond August.
